Johor Bahru · trip budget

How much does a 3D2N Johor Bahru trip cost?

Use a planning range before you cross the Causeway, then adjust it for your hotel style, transport choice and whether you add a family attraction.

Mid-range estimate per person

For the family route in our itinerary, allow roughly MYR 650–1,650 per person, before premium shopping. The food and shopping routes can cost less because their planned activities are cheaper. In Singapore dollars, use your current exchange rate rather than treating a fixed conversion as a promise.

Where the money goes

  • Regional travel: MYR 50–220. Your starting point, crossing method and booking timing make the biggest difference.
  • Accommodation: MYR 220–480. This assumes two nights in a central hotel, based on two people sharing.
  • Food and cafés: MYR 150–300. Local breakfasts, hawker meals, cafés and a few comfortable dinners.
  • City transport: MYR 80–200. Walking in the centre, then direct rides to Danga Bay or Iskandar Puteri.
  • Activities: MYR 150–450. This is the family-route allowance for LEGOLAND and other paid activities; choose the food or shopping route to lower it.

How to keep the trip closer to the lower end

Stay near JB Sentral, make the first day a walkable old-town route, group western stops into one day and treat premium shopping or a high-ticket attraction as an explicit extra.

Keep a border buffer: the cheapest plan can become expensive if a tight return forces an unplanned ride, meal or hotel change.
